"Let us live with a community organization that since 1990, develops social work in Medellín popular communes, especially in the Northeast Zone. Its action is based on pacifism, anti-militarism, solidarity and democracy, accompanying processes with children, young men and women and adults in the affirmation of human dignity.
also part of the group of panelists, Fernando Valencia Rivera, Attorney, Agency Program Coordinator for the identification and location of missing persons, process facilitator and social organizations Aburrá Valley and other subregions, an expert on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law peace process adviser, professor and coordinator of research on development and conflict in the East Regional Centre and the Centre for Regional Studies at the Association of Municipalities of the East.
Moderation will be provided by Lucía González Duque, Architect, Director of Museum of Antioch, who in his career has been linked to various public, private, cultural organizations and nongovernmental organizations that have led social processes in the city, among which we highlight the Viva Corporation Citizenship, the Department of National Planning Gobernación de Antioquia, the Fund for Reconstruction and Social Development of the Coffee and the Corporation Colombo Presence Switzerland.
Panelists will present their reflections on the origin of urban violence, the interpretations that social actors have on this phenomenon and indicate possible contributions as citizens could do about it. We seek to find clarity on this painful subject and raise a real commitment to address them.
